The Robshaw House

The Robshaw House

c.1912
614 River Street

This picturesque early Bungalow house was built sometime during 1912-1915. Two steeply-pitched gabled roofs intersect at the center of the house. Wood ornaments such as brackets, a kingpost, and carved fascia boards enhance the interesting patterns of shingles in the house. The front gable projects over a clear spanned porch arch supported at each end by tapered stucco columns.

One of several Craftsman-style homes along the riverfront, this gem is occupied by our former mayor, Tim Smith, and his wife Darlene. This past year, the Smiths’ efforts at restoration included restaining the wood shakes to a gorgeous hunter green, and repainting the exterior trim
