To all,
Here is the copy of the Palatka Police Department's PowerPoint
presentation/attachment shared Wednesday evening (1/13/10). For those not in
attendance this information will be an agenda topic at our upcoming meeting on
Monday, January 18th at 7PM. Copies will be disseminated throughout the
neighborhood this weekend. In preparation for the discussion at a brainstorming
meeting in the near future (date to be determined at SHNA meeting on Monday)
please think about and list what you feel are the issues in the neighborhood
which most negatively impact your quality of life (see 2nd attachment). No issue
or concern should be considered too trivial. It could be lack of lighting on
the streets, speeding vehicles, unkempt yards or possible criminal activity
i.e., assault, theft, or drug sales. Please try to attend the SHNA meeting
Monday evening and especially the brainstorming meeting in the future. This
program presents a great opportunity for the neighborhood to partner with the
Police and other City Departments to address the issues specific to our
community and improve the overall quality of life in our neighborhood! Also note
on the map in the packet the Southside is Zone 2/Quadrant 5 boundary extends
North to Reid Street which includes St Johns Ave with the railroad tracks as the
west/southwest boundary line encompassing a much larger area than the South
Historic District boundaries. Please forward to others as I don't have
everyone's e-mail address.

To all,
The brainstorming session is scheduled for Monday, January 25th, 6:30PM @
Hammock Hall. The hope is to complete this task within an hour. To do so will
require everyone to come prepared with a prioritized list of issues/concerns
that negatively impact the quality of life in our neighborhood. Since not
everyone in the neighborhood will attend it would be helpful if everyone could
poll their immediate neighbors as well. Remember no concern/issue should be
considered too trivial! If you are unable to attend please forwarded your
concerns to me via e-mail or drop it off at my house. As mentioned in the
previous e-mail this program presents a great opportunity for the neighborhood
to partner with the Police and other City Departments to address the issues
specific to our community and improve the overall quality of life in our
neighborhood. Since the boundaries of Zone 2/Quadrant 5 encompass St Johns
Avenue I have forwarded this information to some of the downtown merchants to
share with others . I will also try to poll residents who live beyond the South
Historic District but are also within the boundaries specified in the Police
Department's PowerPoint presentation (see attached).
Thanks for your assistance with this project,
Robbi
